Description

Cujo is a normally gentle Saint Bernard until a bat bite infects him with rabies and transforms confusion and pain into violent aggression. Nearby, the Trenton family’s new life in Castle Rock, Maine, is already strained by marital conflict and business trouble. When Vic leaves on a work trip, Donna drives their four-year-old son, Tad, to the Cambers’ isolated garage for car repairs. The vehicle fails, and Cujo traps mother and child inside as the enclosed car grows dangerously hot. With no easy way to summon help and Tad overwhelmed by terror, an ordinary errand becomes a brutal contest of endurance. The novel combines domestic crisis with physical horror, making mechanical failure, isolation, summer heat, and a sick animal parts of the same tightening survival ordeal.
