Hercule Poirot is flying from Paris to London with eleven other passengers and crew when a woman is discovered dead shortly before landing. What first resembles a wasp sting proves to be poison delivered by a dart—an attack apparently committed in full view of a crowded aircraft. A blowpipe found near Poirot’s seat makes even the detective a suspect, giving him an urgent reason to reconstruct every movement inside the cabin. Working with Inspector Japp, French investigators, and fellow passenger Jane Grey, he follows the travelers’ connections across London and Paris. The mystery turns the confined airplane into a closed circle of opportunity, using overlooked gestures, social assumptions, and physical evidence to test what witnesses believe they saw.
