Description

After escaping the Maze, Thomas and the other Gladers expect safety, answers, and a chance to recover. Instead, their refuge is overrun by people driven beyond reason by the Flare, Teresa vanishes after contacting Thomas telepathically in terror, and a boy named Aris appears in her place. WICKED then announces that the survivors are infected and must cross the Scorch, a ruined region of extreme heat and violence, within two weeks to obtain a cure. Their route begins with a timed portal and a deadly mechanical tunnel, then forces them into an uneasy alliance with Cranks Jorge and Brenda. This sequel replaces the Maze’s enclosed puzzle with a punishing journey shaped by distrust, disease, and manipulation.
