Description

Twelve-year-old Sophie is a telepathic elf living in San Diego with a human family when the teenage elf Fitz reveals her true nature. He introduces her to the Lost Cities, a civilization concealed from humans and shared by several intelligent species. Sophie leaves her human family, joins an adoptive elven household, and begins studying at Foxfire academy. She also discovers that genetic experimentation gave her an unusually powerful range of abilities. Sophie learns that the rebel Black Swan created her and deliberately hid her parentage, while the series' wider conflict pits the Black Swan against the extremist Neverseen.
