Mr Fox regularly steals food from three cruel farmers to feed his family, relying on cleverness to stay beyond their reach. Furious at being outwitted, the farmers attack his burrow and surround the hill, determined to trap him underground. Their siege soon threatens not only the foxes but every neighboring burrowing animal with starvation. Mr Fox answers with an audacious tunneling plan: with help from his children and Badger, he will raid the farmers’ own food stores from below. What begins as one family’s struggle becomes a communal effort as the underground animals share both danger and refuge. The story pits appetite, ingenuity, and cooperation against three enemies whose determination to win makes them increasingly absurd.
