Juliette Ferrars believed she had defeated the Reestablishment and finally gained control of both her life and her extraordinary powers. Instead, she discovers that her identity and her understanding of the world have been built on deception. As buried memories surface and enemies attack her mind as well as her allies, Juliette must decide whether others will continue using her as a weapon or whether she can define herself as a warrior. Warner and Kenji share the narration, widening the story beyond Juliette’s fractured perspective as the group struggles to survive and sustain its bonds. This young-adult dystopian fantasy centers psychological warfare, recovered identity, loyalty, and the unstable line between empowerment and manipulation.
