Leigh Bardugo’s King of Scars follows King Nikolai, General Zoya, and Nina through separate but connected struggles. Nikolai works to rebuild Ravka, secure alliances, and defend its borders while a dark force grows inside him. Zoya, a powerful Squaller and army general, helps him seek a way to control the monster left within him by the Darkling. Their search brings them into conflict with a cult devoted to the Darkling and a dangerous remnant of the Shadow Fold. Meanwhile, Nina works undercover in Fjerda, helping persecuted Grisha escape and attempting to rescue vulnerable Grisha children.
