Frank “Dolly” Dillon collects overdue payments for Pay-E-Zee Stores, scraping by while nursing bitter grievances about his job, his finances, and his marriage. On his rounds he meets Mona, a vulnerable young woman desperate to escape an aunt who has coerced and exploited her. When Mona reveals that the aunt has money hidden away, Dolly sees a solution to both their troubles and begins shaping her desperation into a criminal opportunity. Their alliance quickly entangles desire, greed, violence, and unstable judgment as the promised escape becomes another form of captivity. Told with the pressure and moral darkness of noir, A Hell of a Woman follows a resentful man whose elaborate self-justifications cannot protect him from the consequences of his own choices.
