A pilot stranded in the Sahara meets a golden-haired boy who has arrived from a tiny asteroid. The Little Prince describes leaving behind his demanding, beloved rose and traveling among planets inhabited by isolated adults: a ruler without subjects, a businessman obsessed with ownership, and others trapped inside habits they mistake for importance. On Earth, his meetings with the pilot, a fox, and the desert landscape deepen his questions about love, loneliness, responsibility, and loss. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry pairs spare, fable-like prose with his own watercolors, allowing a child’s literal curiosity to expose adult vanity and spiritual blindness. The result is both an illustrated adventure and a philosophical meditation on learning to see what affection makes meaningful.
