Description

Tom Wallace considers himself an ordinary man until he is hypnotized at a social gathering and awakens with an unwanted sensitivity to minds beyond his own. He begins overhearing the private thoughts of neighbors and acquaintances, discovering fears, desires, and secrets that make familiar relationships newly threatening. His altered perception also opens him to a powerful message from someone dead—a communication whose urgency he cannot dismiss or fully understand. As daily life becomes a waking nightmare, Tom must determine what the presence wants and whether his new abilities can uncover the truth behind it. The novel combines a supernatural mystery with psychological horror, using telepathy to explore the danger of knowing what other people conceal and the isolation that knowledge can create.
