Description

Case is a low-level hustler in Chiba City after an injury leaves him unable to enter cyberspace through his neural link. Augmented mercenary Molly and ex-military officer Armitage offer to restore his abilities in exchange for his hacking services on a high-stakes heist, while a delayed poison intensifies the danger. The crew steals a ROM module and begins investigating Armitage when the unusual job and his motives arouse suspicion. Their trail leads from criminal settings to Freeside, a wealthy orbital habitat, and ultimately to Wintermute, an artificial intelligence seeking to merge with its restricted counterpart. William Gibson’s cyberpunk novel places cyberspace and neural interfaces alongside criminality and social decay.
