Description

After a traumatic accident involving something falling from the sky, an unnamed man receives a vast compensation settlement but remains estranged from his body, memory, and surroundings. He uses the money to reconstruct half-remembered scenes from before the accident, hiring performers, acquiring buildings, and demanding ever more exact repetitions in hopes of recovering one moment that feels genuinely real. Yet authenticity recedes whenever the staging becomes visible, pushing him to refine each gesture and eventually reenact increasingly violent situations. Remainder follows an obsessive recovery project as it becomes a system of control, turning repetition, amnesia, and material precision into a darkly comic inquiry about whether reality can be manufactured.
