Once an immortal god, Apollo now inhabits the body of a human teenager and must restore the darkened Oracles of Ancient Greece before he can reclaim his former existence. Traveling with allies that include Meg McCaffrey and Calypso, he reaches a refuge in Indianapolis where a new quest involves stolen griffins, the missing Georgina, and the dangerous Oracle of Trophonius. The search also brings the group against forces commanded by Commodus, who holds animals and prisoners captive, while Nero and the Beast seek control of the Oracles themselves. Apollo’s journey combines mythological danger with the humiliations of mortality, forcing a former deity to depend on companions as he confronts enemies, prophecy, and his diminished power.
