Description

Affection has always been dangerous for Maren: closeness awakens an urge to eat people. When her mother abandons her at sixteen, Maren sets out to find the father she has never known. Her search brings her into contact with other eaters, possible enemies, and the possibility of love. As she travels, Maren must confront what her hunger means for her relationships and her sense of self. The journey becomes an exploration of identity, belonging, and whether she can accept what she discovers about herself without losing sight of the human connections she wants.
