Three low-income families are paid to spend a day at Geraldine Borden’s cliffside estate. To receive the rest of the payment, the parents must allow their children to test experimental playground equipment developed over decades in hidden areas beneath Borden’s gothic castle. The children are then abruptly thrust into a violent, diabolical environment where they must mature quickly to survive. Their prospects depend on whether they can overcome their differences and resist the architecture surrounding them. Playground turns the promised paid visit into a desperate ordeal, following children forced to respond to a dangerous environment while their families’ financial circumstances have placed them inside Borden’s experiment.
