About Malcolm Gladwell
Malcolm Gladwell is a British-Canadian journalist who has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996. His books use social-science research, reported stories, and case studies to question familiar explanations of how people think and behave. He often starts with a puzzling outcome and examines the circumstances behind it, focusing on the influence of context, opportunity, social networks, and bias. In Outliers, individual achievement becomes inseparable from cultural inheritance, access, and timing. Blink applies a similar method to rapid judgment, showing both the value of trained intuition and its vulnerability to prejudice and irrelevant information. Gladwell presents these arguments in conversational prose that moves from concrete examples to broader claims.
