About Freida McFadden
Freida McFadden is an American physician and novelist known primarily for psychological thrillers, though she has also written medical humor. After completing her medical training, she began self-publishing under the McFadden pen name and went on to publish 30 novels following her 2013 debut. The Housemaid, released in 2022, became an international bestseller and was adapted as a feature film. Her thrillers use direct, conversational prose to move characters with concealed histories through homes, workplaces, and institutions where dependence sharpens distrust. Their suspense often rests on restricted spaces, uncertain evidence, and shifts in the reader’s understanding of who holds power or poses a threat.
